Birthday Week

Wednesday: For my birthday Chris got me tickets to see "Wicked" in San Francisco. So we stopped the Golden Gate Bridge, my first time going on it.
Since we were in San Fran, we had to get clam chowder in bread bowls and eat them at our "spot".

I think this show is my favorite.

This ... ahem ... man, well he really likes the wicked witch of the east.

Thursday: Shopping at the Galleria

Then some outdoor fun.
aaargh!

Friday: while waiting for family, the kids played outside.

Marley couldn't get enough of William.

Friday Evening: Kimi's shower.

We didn't know too many people, so we entertained ourselves.

Saturday morning: Emily's shower. I can't believe it, but I didn't even get any pictures of the guest of honor ... sorry Em!!

Once again, drinking "cocoa".

Saturday Evening: Matty's Baptism

It was a busy, crazy, wonderful week. A huge thanks goes out to family who babysat for wicked, and family who traveled far and then those that traveled even further to attend the festivities. I love you all!

Lemons, anyone?

I was cutting up lemons and she kept saying "Please, please." So I gave her one ... and she continues to shock me everyday.

A Photo Album of Disneyland

SATURDAY
We left for Los Angeles early on Saturday morning. Once we got there we hit the La Brea Tar Pits. Amazing!! If you ever go to Disneyland, you must check out this museum.

They are still today (and probably will forever) be pulling things out of the tar pits. Here the paleontologists are cleaning some of the finds.

The tar will sprout up anywhere ... the parking lots, the lawn area.

SUNDAY
Breakfast time

Getting ready for church

Rexton Grant Shumway's baby blessing
The kids kept busy while the adults caught up

To fill the time before dinner, we hit the beach

We fell in love with Jordon

MONDAY - DISNEYLAND!
Waiting in line for Star Tours

Space Mountain

Tea Cups
Mr. Toads Wild Ride

One of the boys favorites was the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad

Hanging out on the Mark Twain Riverboat

Front to back: Chris, Brody (look closely - he didn't want to get wet), Dannon, Me, Zane, and Tyson

Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters!

Best buddies ... or what ...?

End of the Day ... Dannon's getting a little sleepy ... and grumpy.

Disneyland is so exhausting

TUESDAY - CALIFORNIA ADVENTURE!
Goofing off in Redwood Creek Challange Trail

Luckily they got enough of a kick out of trying them on that we didn't have to buy them ... $16.50 a pop

They were quite the pair the whole weekend
Waiting for Toy Story Mania

Because Brody's ears are a little small, the 3-D glasses rarely sat on his head straight.

Zane was my buddy on Toy Story Mania.

A picture of a picture doesn't always turn out the best, but you get the idea. Here Chris and I escaped for a little bit and went on California Screamer - the best ride ever!

Waiting for Bugs Life

Bugs Life

So we thought that maybe we could sneek Brody in and let him go by himself.

Apparently not, they kicked him off and put him in a holding cell.

Luckily, they let him go on the next round with Chris.

Tuesday was hard on him too.

WEDNESDAY
We left pretty early (6:30 am) so we could get back to Marley. Here Brody is playing with his new toys he purchased from Disneyland.
We had the best time ever. A BIG thank you goes out to the Shumways and to the parents for watching Marley ... we will never forget this trip!
